“Moving Forward in Excellence”
As President of Tau Alpha Zeta Chapter, I am proud to serve and work in this great leadership role that my chapter has entrusted me with. Tau Alpha Zeta Chapter was chartered March 30,2003, by 23 college educated women from various diverse professional backgrounds and we pride ourselves in modeling the highest ideals of our founding principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood. We have made tremendous strides over the past two decades to situate ourselves as the Model Chapter. Our members have worked diligently and completed countless hours of service through our international signature service program ZHOPE, which stands for Zetas Helping Other People Excel. We have established many outreach programs focusing on the needs of our children, elders, and families in need within the community. We have a great partnership with the Richton Park Community, and we are proud of our work in mental health through our domestic violence programs, Zeta Sings the Blues, Get Engaged and Adopt a school program to name a few.
Our children are the future, and we work tirelessly with our March of Dimes signature program where we collaborate and solicit donations and educate the community by participating in Prematurity Awareness Month where we walk for our babies. We have a strong partnership with our community partners and supporters. Tau Alpha Zeta believes in boots on the ground because service is what we do. Our 501c3 Charitable Arm of Tau Alpha Zeta Chapter is Not-for-profit. Passport to Pearls, (P2P) supports scholarship and fundraising initiatives of the Chapter, while creating ways to fundraise to benefit the community served by TAZ including Richton Park, and the Chicagoland areas.
We are extremely proud this year of our youth auxiliary program the Archonettes. The Archonette program is a Zeta Youth Affiliate of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated that encompasses high school young ladies ages 14-18 years old who demonstrate an interest in the goals and ideals of scholarship, sisterly love, and community service.
As we celebrate almost three decades of Service, under the leadership of our 26th International President and CEO, Dr. Stacie N.C. Grant, Tau Alpha Zeta Chapter will continue to operate in excellence and provide stellar service to the children, families, and community of Richton Park Community and the Chicagoland areas. We will be intentional as we move forward in excellence.
